I remember clearly when the Yoga ‘Bug’ got a hold
of me and from then on I’ve been lucky enough to practice all around the world
with some amazing teachers .
After a couple of years practicing Yoga frequently
I decided to make the transition from Student to Teacher.
My training
took me to Mysore, India where I studied various Hatha Yoga disciplines. I also
deepened my meditation & pranayama practice which allowed me to open up
physically & mentally to enable ‘self-healing’ through better thought
patterns, actions, intentions, discipline and cultivating a compassionate
attitude toward myself & others.
As a lifetime student of Yoga my
journey is never ending and the lessons I learn grow exponentially with each day
I live, student I teach, book I read & observing, trusting and most of all
enjoying the process & journey of my life. This gives me happiness and a
feeling of fulfilment. “If I breathe Yoga I breathe life, if I live Yoga I live
life
I love yoga, yoga helps people to transform because it calls for self-observation, you never stop learning and it’s never over. When you start to inquire who you are and why you do what you do, and you really inquire honestly, then the outcome must be transformation , because as soon as you observe something, it begins to unravel, it begins to change.
My inspirations stem from love, and anyone who has suffered and sought a serene solution... Your mom, Gandhi, Martin Luther King, H.H. the Dalai Lama, Aung San Suu Kyi and Muhammed Ali - these very human warriors teach us that the charge is not outside, but diving into peace by unifying acceptance and action.
Here we breathe in our idiosyncrasies and practice a passion for life. It appreciates in value and cherishes.
Yoga has been apart of my life since I was 18 and was introduced to it through an amazing friend who showed me how to utilise the power of my own body, mind and spirit to heal and recover from a chronic illness. Because of my own yogic journey I wanted to share the benefits one can gain through this ancient discipline and decided to complete my Vinyasa Teacher training in Thailand earlier this year.
I will always be a student of Yoga and show gratitude to the wisdom of my mentor & teachers through continuing my own growth and education of this discipline. Beyond the yoga mat, I adore food, walking the Port Hills, travelling & watching movies. See you in class soon
I started my
Yoga practice while I was attending university. I initially started Yoga as a
way to get strong and flexible and It was only after I found the right teacher,
the one who had that “spark”, that I truly became ADDICTED!
She showed me how
good it felt to find my flow and helped me master my body in ways I would have
never before thought possible before. My ambition as a Yogini is to help light
that spark for other people how my teacher did for me.
I have recently spent five weeks in northern India studying Ashtanga and
vinyasa yoga. This experience has really made me value the mix of traditional
Indian yogic practices and western biomechanics we have in our local classes
today. I love classes that are packed full of challenge, fun and new wisdom.
Yoga has been a part of my
life for over a decade and has healed me in so many ways. I love going onto my
mat for my practice, its my sanctuary where I find the time and space to renew
my body and mind .
Through yoga, I have found joy in the little things and
immense gratitude for the life I have been given. Yoga helped me to return to
who I am. I would love to share my practice
with others and show them how yoga became my elixir of
life.
